La-Pha-Pack have developped a new 1.5ml Polypropylene Short Thread Vial for the specific requirements of Ion Chromatography, Atomic Absorption and Capillary Electrophoresis (CE + CE/MS). In contrast to glass vials, these are ideally suitable for the before-mentioned applications, as the plastic material is nonionic and nonreactive. Furthermore it doesn't contain any heavy metals and the inner vial surface reduces the adsorption of polar compounds, such as proteins and aminos. The vial is available in transparent and amber, chemically resistant Polypropylene and has well visible filling lines for convenient handling. The inner vial bottom is formed concave, so that dead volume is reduced and the needle finds optimal conditions for sample removal. The volume of more than 1.5ml is unique to this vial, as most plastic Micro-Vials on the market show a volume of only 0.8ml max. Thus the vial is also an optimal sample container for pH-sensitive and aqueous samples, for example in the pharmaceutical industry, as even glass vials of 1st hydrolytic class can only be deactivated with regard to hydrolytic resistance by silanisation.
